Happy(?) Monday! Todays mood board is for those who have a formal dining space, but who aren’t formal-kinda-people. I tried to mix trendy, modern and traditional all at the same time to give off a cheerful vibe that makes anyone want to sit around the “formal” dining table on days other than holidays.
Furniture: First off the amazing farmhouse table was a big splurge, but I like the fact that it’s expandable to fit whatever size group chooses to pop over around dinner time. These yellow ladder back chairs keep things bright and fun, and the beautiful dark wicker chairs act as anchors for the ends of the table.
Accessories: The rug chosen for under the table add a pop of color without being distracting. It could definitely work with multiple color schemes for different seasons and decor. The green pillow adds another pop of color and pattern, as well as the fun orange flower napkin rings. The candle holder on the table was also a fun find (& on clearance right now!) that makes a statement without being too busy. Last but not least, wine is the staple of our dinner parties, so a little holder was added to play off of the pillows and add some storage.
Lighting & Art: Because there is so much color happening in the room, a simple chandelier was chosen, and it’s affordable too, which was needed after the table splurge : ) A simple gallery wall was created with bright red EAT lettering, a rustic egg sign, and a uniquely shaped clock.
What do you think of todays dining room mood board? Are you a formal dining room person or would something colorful like this be more your style? I love love those wicker chairs, what’s your favorite part?
