Since our blog will be centered around our home, we decided to start our first post around a overview of our house’s layout and original state when purchased. Although we’re renters, we’re lucky enough to be able to document the befores and afters as we got to walk through the home before our landlord (our aunt!) purchased the home. First things first… here’s the floor plan!
It’s a three bedroom ranch with just under 1,000 sq. ft. of space which is just perfect for us. The “master” room is Jodie’s and the second is Paige’s. We thought about bunk beds and leaving the second room for activities but they wouldn’t fit. Only kidding. Maybe. The third has a sliding door wall that leads out to the deck, so we decided to make it the office/guest room so people did not have to walk through our bedrooms to eat some burgers.
The living room and kitchen are open concept despite the drawing. That half wall is actually a horrible railing similar to what would be on a landing or staircase, but since we’re renters we’re unable to
judo-chop-it remove it. Dang it. We just have to work with it!
The garage is our furniture studio where we make-over solid pieces to bring them back to life and post them for sale here on our site. We’re open to custom pieces as well and are excited to show you what we’ve been working on!
So, there you have it, our little home dubbed “the cottage”. We don’t want to give too much away about everything else, but wanted to start with this so you can get your bearings and won’t get dizzy knowing where we are at in future posts!
