Welcome to my bedroom reveal/Deke’s photobomb shoot! My room is still in it’s “progress” stage as there’s at least three things I want to add to it eventually, but since we’ve already shared a few updates we didn’t want to delay any longer. Let’s start out with a little floor plan action and a before picture to show what we were working with originally.
This room was the only staged room when we did the original walk through of the house, but instead of adding to the space it only dated it! A new bedspread, a fun accent pillow,a little table and removing those curtains would’ve done wonders. But apparently it did the trick since my bed is now in that spot! I digress… Back to the main topic, here’s what my bedroom looks like so far:
I chose a bold purple wall color (turned out more purple that I expected but I do like it- always sample your paints- doh!) so wanted to keep the rest of the room neutral. I’m a sucker for soft blankets so layers of those on a pretty quilt and a few throw pillows completes my bed.
Since the room is not very large, my dresser serves as my dresser/vanity/bedside table and serves triple duty quite well.
I keep all of my make up on a thrifted silver tray with various fun crystal containers as a gift from my mom. She went on a crystal rampage one year and I’m not upset about it : )
On the other side of the bed I purchased a small shelf unit for $15 from IKEA that has been working out perfect. Since there was not enough room to put a full night stand, the price tag and size fit the bill.
Across from my bed is my shelf unit that you may have seen when we posted about the faux crate fronts, a window with our diy striped curtains, and next to that is my massive amount of clothing closet.
And that pretty much covers the space! On my to do list is to change out my closet knobs similar to what we did in the office, add some sort of art/decoration on the large space above my bed, and find a rug to put next to my bed to break up the beige carpeting a bit. I’d also looovvveee to install a new lighting fixture and actually already purchased a little chandelier to add! Just have to find time to hang it. Story of my life. Until I find the perfect additions, I’m happy with how it looks and adding to it is the fun part of course : )
Only two room reveals left! Paige’s room with some fun projects will come next, then our garage studio to wrap it all up : )
Prost!

Ps. Apologies for the bad lighting in the pictures! What my room really needs is another window for some natural light… The one window is large but looks out on a boxed off patio. Only creates more notes for what to look for (or not to look for) once I have my own home : )
