As promised, here’s a super simple Halloween wreath we made with just a few craft supplies! We purchased this plain wreath at an amazing little craft discount store here in Michigan and have decorated it for a few different holidays so far.
For this Halloween, we took the wreath and just started wrapping white yarn around it until it somewhat resembled a spider web.
The spider was made with a little paper heart decoration we had and some black paint.
To make the legs, we hot glued on four whole pipe cleaners to the back of the heart (glue them in the middle so you get 8 legs for your creepy crawler- do you remember that toy? #bringbackcreepycrawlers) and bent the legs to look spidery.
We added a few hot glued googly eyes and our spider was complete!
To make the little banner, we just cut out some card stock and using a sharpie wrote out the word “boo,” punched some holes in the top corners, and attached it to the wreath using some twine.
Now, put them all together! We tied the banner to the top and attached the spider by bending the “feet” of the spider around the yarn web. Bada-bing-bada-boom we were done.
We chose to hang her on our front door and so far she’s scared no one. Dang it. At least there’s still time.
It took us maybe 20 minutes to put together the whole thing and we love how the simple wreath can be used for multiple holidays : )
Prost!
