I have an odd obsession with decorating with utensils that I can actually trace it all the way back to my great grandmother’s home. When I was a little girl my favorite thing about her house was the large wooden spoon and fork that hung above her kitchen table all the way over in Wisconsin. Probably strange, but that’s my warm-fuzzie from my family’s trips out there. So, when I got a home of my own, a wooden spoon and fork were a priority. Luckily I got some for Christmas from my Sypsie sister : )
But this post isn’t about those! It’s about a simple project that also happens to feature utensils : ) A few weeks ago I found some really cute tea towels at Marshalls and picked them up just because. After using them to create bows for our chalkboard chargers, I decided to use one as super simple kitchen art! All I needed was a frame and my towel.
I just placed the towel where I wanted and folded over the edges.
Since the back attached to the frame with small metal pieces that folded over, the width could accommodate a thin towel. The Ikea Ribba frame was a bit plain looking by itself, so I went into my sticker pile and dressed it up a tiny bit. It all got put back together and in my kitchen it went…
And that’s how simple it was! Feeds my utensil addiction and adds a cute bit of character to my kitchen : )
Prost to a non-case-of-the-Mondays Monday!
