We were recently contacted by One Kings Lane to help introduce their new Home Decor Resource Guide by featuring a favorite chair in our home, and we instantly knew which ones to choose!
Remember a while ago when we went shopping at Target for new accent chairs for the office? Well, we finally have them all set up and ready to show!
We’re loving the sleek style and size of them, and the navy ikat pattern doesn’t hurt the eyes either : )
They’re balanced out by our ASCP nightstand makeover which just so happened to match perfectly. The decor on it and on the window is just there for now and we’d love to switch it up, but we’re sick of looking at an unfinished space so we improvised 🙂 Despite the work in progress decor, these chairs are officially our new favorite pieces of furniture in the house. They’re so comfortable and the seat is a perfect size.
Keeping our new slipper chairs in mind, we explored around the resource guide which literally has everything from the beginning of chairs up until now, and naturally landed on a few fun things to share!
First up was a little chart that helps you figure out what chair style suits you. How cool is that? I couldn’t help but think of the charts similar to this in teen magazines that we all used to obsess over (it’s okay you can admit it) growing up- except for this one is so much better because it’s about home decor! For example- our new chairs fall in the modern category and are labeled as soft and quirky. We love it!
Another awesome resource on the site was this interactive map that shows the history of different chairs by era and country. I had no idea so many ideas came from the US and was surprised to learn so much! I’ve never thought of myself as a history buff, but learning the backstory about a piece of furniture is so interesting to me- every curve and detail has history behind it.
The One Kings Lane home decor resource is definitely something we will keep using, especially as we’re looking at purchasing different old pieces at garage sales and thrift stores. We already have a list of chairs to look up including the rocking chair we’re currently working on, but for right now we’re enjoying the new view into our office : )
Prost!
