Repainting the Master

For about a year I’ve been rocking an amazing shade of purple in my room, Sherwin Williams Ash Violet, but after living in the home for a little while, I’ve realized that the room really needs a lighter color to brighten it up (lack of properly placed windows probs). While I absolutely love the purple color, I’m afraid a lighter purple might look too “little girly”, so I’ve decided to go with a light gray-blue or green this time.

Since the paint is on the darker side, I’ve already done the prep work by giving it one quick coat of primer (Kilz water-based) and have touched the walls up as necessary.

Now- the fun part! Which color to choose… hmm…

After spending some time perusing the paint department in Home Depot for some lighter spring colors, my three contenders are:

And here they are in the room!

Behr Misty Morn Behr Salt Glaze Behr Coliseum Marble paint

I’m leaning towards one of the two blue colors, Behr’s Misty Morn or Salt Glaze, but maybe something in the middle since one’s a bit dark and one’s a bit light? I’m still undecided… All three go well with the Sherwin Williams Requisite Gray color in the hallway so there’s good flow, but I have to work with the yellowish trim so I need to keep that in mind.

Do you have a favorite or another suggestion? Hopefully this project will get wrapped up this week after a decision is made and I can share the reveal! (fingers crossed!)
