This weeks mood board focuses on two things I keep thinking about to keep me sane this week, warm & fuzzy. Yep, just like the saying. I’m thinking warm & fuzzy thoughts, which ultimately translated into this design. And if I had it my way, I’d be curled up in a space like this with my brain switched “off” right now. It’s only Monday. Struggle-stress-ville over here.
This space leans more towards a trendy feminine design with the white couch and metallics with some deep, dark accents to add that warmth. It’s neutral and clean with a touch of romance : )
Furniture: The furniture is pretty simple in this design to leave room for fun accessories. I’ve been eyeing this large sectional because of how comfy and affordable it is. It comes in a lot of different colors, but clean white was my goal for this room. Since a lot of make-believe money was saved on the couch, I splurged on the selection of the coffee table and went for this hearty option from Pottery Barn (could also be built DIY style!)
Accessories: The couch is topped off with three fun pillows all with different textures- a gray ombre linen, white pom-pom, and metallic bronze. A dark chunky throw was added to balance out the light colors, and three different candle holders, the lantern, the hurricane and the mercury glass add that touch of romance. The curtains add another touch of metallic to the space and the faux sheepskin and gray rugs bring in additional textures. Last but not least I added one vase to bring in a hint of a girly pink.
Lighting: I wanted a chandelier for the lighting but something that wasn’t too over the top. I found this one at Lamps Plus and love how it works with the dark colors in the room, but isn’t overpowering.
Paint: I think this Cotton Grey color by Behr would be really pretty and light, and an accent wall in Sherwin William’s Peppercorn (I’ve used it as an accent wall color in my old office and loved it!) would make those curtains and couch stand out. Both are neutrals as well, but to me adding that contrasting color makes the walls go from eh to danggg. Design terms right there.
And that’s the warm-meets-fuzzy-meets-neutral-meets-feminine space! Would you add any of these items to your home? Are you repeating any phrases to get you through this week as well? Here’s to it flying by like I’m hoping it will if so : ) The long weekend coming up is calling my name!
