Just wanted to pop in today to say hi and talk about life! It’s a doozy isn’t it : ) We’ve been working behind the scenes on a few projects to share soon on both our blog, and as guests posts, that we’re really excited about!
This past weekend I also got a chance to visit the local farmers market (a new one for me since moving!) and loved it! I wasn’t sure how it would be since I moved to a suburb city from more of a “country” setting and had only experienced those farmers markets, but I was pleasantly surprised! I picked up some fresh flowers, meat (Not just any meat, peppercorn bacon, meat. I know.) homemade jam and the only veggie available right now, asparagus. Delicious. I used this recipe to cook them and it was beyond tasty.
If you follow us on Instagram (@sypsiedesigns) you’ve already seen these pictures, but who wouldn’t want to see some gorgeous flowers again! We ended up separating the flowers into two different vases. One went into a stemless wine glass (work with what you’ve got!) on the coffee table,
and the pink and purple flowers along with the rest of the greenery, in this large jar. Separating one bouquet into multiple arrangements is a great way to frugally decorate your home!
While visiting my grandma a couple of weeks ago we took a trip down to her basement and I saw two of these huge mason jars in a dusty corner. I got excited about them and she was more than happy to get rid of things, so into my car they went! There are two and they’re both different, so I’m still debating on where they will end up. Maybe as lamps? I’ll let you know once I decide : )
Just as exciting as the farmers market starting back up, it’s finally garage sale season here in Michigan!! I had a chance to pop over to a few this week and picked up these two frames for $5 total. They’re large and have pretty detailing on them, and I’m hoping to turn them into a mirrored project if all goes like the plan that’s in my head. Famous last words. More on that later as well!
Last but not least, Paige and I are also going to attempt the 100 Happy Days challenge just for fun! We’ve been dealing with a lot of stress lately at work, family members giving us a scare in the hospital, and for me house hunting on top of that, so it seemed fitting. If you’d like to follow along we’re posting the pictures each day on Instagram! We’re going to switch off every other day on who posts, so there will be two different perspectives on happy to give it our own twist.
So that’s what we’ve been up to this week. What about you? Any overly excited dance moves about a few jars in your grandmas basement? Get to visit any farmers markets or garage sales with some great deals? I’m hoping to pop over to the city next to us this weekend to check out theirs as well : )

Yum – peppercorn bacon is the best! We have a great farmer’s market that I can’t wait to visit this year. In fact, you may have inspired me to go this weekend! Last year, they even had wine…nothing like wine tasting at 8 am 🙂
Now mine doesn’t seem so cool! Wine tasting? That sounds like a great farmers market! I might see if mine has a suggestion box and I’ll add that haha : )
