We just wanted to pop in really quick to say hi and share a few pictures from my phone! The last few weeks have been crazy- we’re prepping for a housewarming party and are running around like mad people trying to finish up projects! Meaning they’re still all 90% done, we just have more projects that are now also 90% done : ) That last 10% is up next, then lots of pictures and project sharing!
We also recently took a long weekend trip to Ludington, Mich. which was a fun little adventure filled with hiking and sunset watching : )
How cool is that tree? On top of that I’ve also been in Chicago traveling for my day job for a big trade show.
The work part was work, but the view was amazing as always : ) We got to go out on a dinner boat cruise (where this picture was taken) one night- a glass of wine and being on the water made this one of my favorite parts! I lived in Chicago for a couple of years after college so it’s a different experience revisiting my old “home” town every once in a while. Side note- the tourist parts like this never ever get old. They actually get even better the more you do them. Highly recommend an architectural tour on the river if you’re planning a visit soon!
While I was gone, M and Deke, our cat, had the house to themselves. After telling me he wasn’t able to get much done and had to work every day and night to catch up on his busy season, I came home to an amazing surprise!
We had started putting up the Airstone in our family room before I left (literally up until 5 minutes before I had to rush to the car) and got almost all of the corner pieces done. Mitering them is no joke, yo! I came home to a fully Airstoned fireplace and this amazing mantle that I can’t wait to share… It was less than $50 and looks like reclaimed wood! I cannot believe he did this all himself in such a short timeframe. Details to come later : ) The TV was also up and the new lighting fixtures were hung, complete with a dimmer. I’m in love! Oh, and I like the family room too ; ) Sappy rant over.
Last but not least, our deck furniture is officially set up! I’m hoping to finish up planting a few fall mums and then will share the space as well… I don’t think I’ve ever loved ripping into a box more.
We’ve been looking at different options and fall sales but none of them were fitting into the budget, or so I thought. M also surprised me with these babies and they are absolutely amazing! If you don’t hear from me for another 3 weeks it’s because I’m out there with my box of wine glass of wine and refuse to come inside : )
Can’t wait to share all of the projects we’ve been working on! What have you been up to lately? Enjoying the last few days of summer? It’s officially fall and freezing here- enough so to break out the boots for a day! Paige is in sunny Vegas with some girlfriends so wish her luck as well!
