One. More. Week!! Goodness. Have you checked out all of the amazing design bloggers rooms on Calling it Home? How about the amazing participants? There are so many I absolutely cannot wait to see- so be sure to check them out!
First things first, if you’re here for the first time, be sure to check out each weeks update!
All up to speed? Well, this week I decided to keep things more of a mystery.
Half because it will make the reveal more fun and exciting.
Half because I don’t have half of my list done yet.
Okay maybe the “half” part is a little off- I won’t tell which one is actually the bigger reason : )
I promise I have a good excuse!
This weekend my boyfriend Matt and I had a whole list of to-do’s and projects we were going to knock out, but it turns out he had a different idea on how the weekend was going to go. Friday morning when I thought we were waking up for work just like every other weekday, he instead told me to pack my bag because he had a surprise trip planned for us! So many amazing stories to share, but long story short, he proposed (!!!!!!!!) and we have officially switched our brains from the house, and, well, everything else (including what day it is- this post is going up 24 hours late! Oops!), to wedding planning. I said yes if you were wondering : )
Once we have a date finalized we can settle down a bit, but it turns out the wedding market is a hot one and dates for next year are already filling up fast!
So, short story shorter, I have been on cloud 9 this past week, and things like date and time have just completely gone to the wayside. Luckily for M and my co-workers, I have however remembered to shower and brush my teeth. You’re welcome : )
But, since this is the One Room Challenge after all, I’ll share a few teasers too!
For seating, the whole DIY bench is the largest project that’s up in the air. But on the bright side, we found this old chair for $5 at a garage sale and are in the process of re-doing it using things we have laying around the house!
The lighting was another big issue with the room. With our budget in mind, we are DIY-ing this project and can’t wait to get it hung up! Here’s a little sneak peek of what we used : ) That lantern was $17 at Homegoods… practically a steal!
Artwork is the last little tidbit of spoilers this week, and we’ve had fun shopping all over from thrift shops to chain stores for some traditional and fun pieces, and of course our $22 Restoration Hardware inspired project!
Such a short post this week, but I can’t wait to share the reveal next week (and to see it my self! Hence the unfinished part!) and hope you’ve loved following along so far! I also can’t wait to share more about the weekend M planned and never realized how fun the word fiance is before now : ) But first, back to decorating! See you next Thursday : )

Congratulations on your engagement. That sounds way more exciting than redoing a room. However, I do look forward to the reveal too.
Best wishes to you! Perhaps the first ORC engagement?
Congratulations! Love is a beautiful thing 🙂
Congratulations on the engagement! That is so exciting! Can’t wait to see this room all finished.
