I feel like I’ve said this just about every single week of every single One Room Challenge we’ve participated in, but HOLY MOLY does time fly! This ORC we’re taking on our son’s nursery and infusing a little vintage sports theme into it, and we’re four weeks into the six week challenge!

So far we’ve shared the before’s and our design plan, a little flea market shopping, and the start of the box wainscoting! This week the room is really starting to come together after hours and hours of caulking and painting. I was I was being dramatic, but that’s the reality behind pretty trim work. Totally worth it though 🙂

We decided to go with BM Decorators White on the top half, and BM Stormy Sky for the trim and wainscoting. It’s a dark gray with a hint of blue that’s making my nursery dreams come true!
Also making a huge difference? Those gorgeous outlets! Funny to say gorgeous and outlets in the same sentence, right? But the way that they are so seamless (no screws on the plate!) and how the dark color blends right into the wall, makes them deserve the title.

Legrand reached out to us to try their Radiant collection and I’m so glad they did! This room would look drastically different if there were big white plugs in the middle of the wall, and it really adds a more pulled together look for the space. Never underestimate the little things, even things as simple as plugs in a design!

We went with the Graphite color and picked the tamper proof outlets, perfect for our little’s room. He’s of that age where he can smell an unprotected outlet from 50 feet away and head straight towards it, so little things like this make me feel that much more comfortable while he explores around the house. I feel like I find 10 new things a day that I have to baby proof, so I’m happy that outlets are checked off the list!

Standing a full 8 feet tall in the opposite corner, is this handsome nook. I’m so glad we decided to add the trim all the way up the wall, and I can’t wait to get the floating bench added! We have everything all set, it just needs a coat of stain and to be installed. I can’t wait for the little guy to be able to curl up here (and selfishly to decorate it and add tons of pillows, my love language).

Things are finally starting to come together in the room, and I can’t wait to see it all accessorized. I’ve pulled a few things together, but am officially on the hunt for some perfect old sports themed artwork!

And that’s it for this week! Lots of caulking and painting, some perfect outlets and a switch courtesy of Legrand (this is a sponsored post, but I fully recommend their Radiant selection for it’s ease of install, color options and seamless look!) and next up is bringing in all of the big furniture pieces! And then… the reveal. Once again. HOLY MOLY. Send us all the good vibes! And as always, before you go, go check out the amazing designers and participants over on the ORC blog! Things. are. getting. good.

This room is shaping up and looking fab!
Thank you! Little by little! 🙂
I love the paint colors you chose!! And you’re so right about the small details like outlet covers- I’ve been thinking about switching mine and now I think you’ve convinced me!!
Thank you! Oh my gosh it makes such a difference, if you’ve been thinking about it I’d definitely say go for it!
The wainscotting is superb. Loving that blue too.
Thank you!
