Now that the office is 85% done, let’s skip on to the next room, shall we? 😛 We’ve also been working on implementing this design for a modern half bath, and we had so much fun sharing the process for the office, that we want to do the same here!
I want the half bath to flow with the design of the rest of the house, but pack it’s own little punch. It’s definitely a room that you can have some fun in design wise, so we wanted to pack as much pattern, texture and a pop of bold color as possible. All of course, on a budget!
Here’s where I am at with the design right now.

Light // Mirror // Faucet // Counter // Paint
Art // Wallpaper // Towel Bar // Rug (At Home) // Pull

A little modern, a little cozy (is that a thing for a half bath?) and a little punch.
We picked up that light fixture for $10 (?!?!?!?!?!?!) from Pottery Barn one day when they were just trying to clear out their back room, and that was the start of the inspiration. Next we picked up this fun faucet, which I love and happens to be the cheapest polished brass option we could find.
The vanity is going to be a fun pop using the color Weekend from Magnolia Homes, and the rest of the stuff we’ve just picked up along the way. How fun is that towel bar? I love how simple yet statement making it is.
I do have a little DIY project to get the look of the mirror in the design board for less, which will be coming to our Instagram friends first!
The walls and countertops are the last and most challenging part of this space. I want something that brings in a fun pattern, and this wallpaper from Home Depot is silly inexpensive for wallpaper. I’m thinking of doing one accent wall with the paper, then pairing that with some vertical trim work on the sink wall. The existing cabinet is 42″ and tops are hard to find for that size, so we might look into a countertop company or DIYing something. These are the only two parts that are up in the air right now, so I’ll let you all know how it turns out asap!
We’ll be back soon with the progress on the space, but would love to hear what you think about the design (or any other ideas!) so far!
