Cue the obligatory OOOO we’re halfway thereeee singing, it’s week three of the One Room Challenge!

This week we’re talking about some furniture we’ve picked up for our den! If you haven’t gotten caught up, week one we shared before pictures and our design boards, and week two was all about paint, floors and progress!
Both pieces today were steals from our local Crate and Barrel outlet, and were right around $100 each. That sounds like “sold” to me 🙂
First up was this fun cane and leather chair! Did we need a chair? No. Did I come home with a chair anyways? Yes.

Originally I was going to either order an upholstered chair or use a wicker Ikea one we already owned. But, after seeing this guy, I think he might have officially found his new home in this room! What do you think? Wicker, or cane? That leather seat makes me happy, so it’s definitely what I’m leaning towards right now.
Next up is this low four drawer dresser. It’s the Ryker line from CB2, and originally had a fun marble top on it. Unfortunately that was broken and long gone by the time I stumbled upon it, but that means we got it for a killer deal.

I debated a few different ways to repair the top, but in the end decided to try out a high gloss white look first, to almost mimic an enameled top.
The top got a good cleaning and any little imperfections were filled. I already had some white semigloss paint on hand, so decided to try that out first.

We’re only one coat in right now, but I think I’m loving it! I also picked up some high gloss polycrylic to add after a few more coats, so I’ll share updates over on Instagram as soon as it’s done!

The last big things we have left in this room are the lighting, finishing the Murphy bed, and the accent wall. We have a few options in mind for each, and I can’t wait to share more over the next couple of weeks until the reveal!
Until then, cheers to making it halfway! And as always, be sure to check out all of the amazing designers and participants over on the ORC blog!
Loving that chair with the leather seat! Cheers to making it halfway. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes
together! 🙂
