Welcome back! Last week we chatted all about how we’re participating in a challenge known as the One Room Challenge where designers and guests transform a space in a six post, five week extravaganza.

So much goodness is shared each week, so be sure to check out the blog to follow along with everyone’s progress! If you missed week one here, we chatted all about the design for the room and shared some before photos of the very, err, brown space.
But this week we’re back with progress! After hours of a brush in my hand (4 coats on the trim and 3 on the walls = basically pro status now) our room is now a bright happy white color, Benjamin Moore’s White Dove, which matches several other rooms in our home.

Amazing what a little paint can do! As a little reminder, here’s the space in it’s brown state last week.

We are loving the quick change so far! BUT, now we have totally project creep. I’ve done a bit of shopping in preparation for the challenge (more on that next week!) and we’ve added a few projects to our to-do list.

Extra project one, is new nightstands! My husband Matt surprised me with them for my birthday (we’ve been talking about them for months!) and I went to pick them up today. Can’t wait to share more!
Extra project two, is this bed. We’re still going to keep the whole makeover a budget friendly “easier” project, but after seeing everything start to come together, I think we can definitely spruce it up a bit. I’m off to the fabric store this week to scout out some options, and we’ll be sure to share everything along the way of course!

So now that we’ve totally left everything in suspense. See you next week! Kidding, here’s one more photo before we leave.

The last thing to paint are those doors a soft yet statement charcoal and then we can officially put the paint brushes down! Okay now off to tackle all of those extra to-do’s on top of the fireplace, decorating and about 50 other things 🙂 See you next week for a shopping update and all of the texture goodness!
What a difference a week can make! I’m a huge fan of White Dove, but usually for trim. Go ahead & splurge just a bit – it’s your own bedroom. I’m doing mine as well for the ORC, which is how I found you. Good luck!!
Best of luck to you as well! We did end up splurging – you’re totally right! Can’t wait to see your space as well!
The paint changes everything! Nicely done!
Thank you! Magic in a can 🙂
I’m always surprised how dramatic paint change is! Excited to see your final reveal. I am also doing our master bedroom.
Thank you! Can’t wait to see yours as well 🙂
