Let’s chat shopping and progress this week, shall we? Two of my favorite things when it comes to our home! If this is the first time you’re here, we’re participating in the One Room Challenge, a six post series where you make progress on any space of your choosing! For us, it’s our master bedroom.

Week one we shared all of the before photos and design plans, and week two was all about the power of paint.
First up let’s chat the progress we’ve made this week! The biggest impact was by far the lighting. We started out with a standard ceiling fan, which wasn’t doing the tray ceiling much justice.

Is it bad that even it removed looks better than the before to me?

We ended up picking the Jerome chandelier from Pottery Barn, but found it for a steal at $159 as a floor sample! Sold sold sold!

Ignore the different curtains and just focus on the pretty new light, we’re trying a few things out still 🙂
But, speaking of curtains, we also picked those up from Ikea and I love the subtle herringbone pattern on them. So much nicer than the old wood dusty blinds.

Next on the shopping list was some fun art! I picked these two pieces up from Homegoods and love how they bring some extra texture and pattern.

And last but certainly not least was some new modern nightstands! My husband surprised me with these for my birthday this week, and after looking and talking about getting new ones for months, I’m so excited about them! Originally we were just going to keep the existing furniture that we had, but the other nightstands are now perfect in our guest room so it’s a win win.

The new nightstands, lamps (another Homegoods find!) and the art together make me so happy – the vision for this space is starting to come together!

Plus cute photo bombing pups 🙂 Also, if you caught week two, you may have read that I wanted to add a project to our list and reupholster our bed. BUT, now that we have more furniture in here and the painting is done, I think we’re actually leaning towards keeping it as is! Funny how adding a few new elements can make a piece look completely different. I still hold the right to change my mind a million times between now and the next couple of weeks, but that one is off the list. For the moment. We’ll see. Don’t put any money on it.
Okay that’s enough rambling for now. Next week we’re tackling the new fireplace and I cannot believe it’s finally happening! Can’t wait to share more!
But quickly before you go – be sure to check out all of the amazing designers and participates over on the One Room Challenge blog!
Your room is coming along well. We have a photobombing puppy as well in our master bedroom makeover. Doing your bedroom is quite disruptive, don’t you think?
What a cutie! Yes, I feel like almost every space ends up being disruptive ha 🙂 We spent about two weeks sleeping in our guest bedroom but I’m hoping it’s going to be so worth it when it’s all done!
